About me
I went from feeling a lack of connection with my home’s interior to understanding the fundamental principles of holistic interior design so that I could work towards having a home that provides me and my partner with a sense of calm and wellbeing.
Through this process, I noticed how interior design can appear intimidating, and a little too overcomplicated at times, so I wanted to simplify these layers to make great design accessible, showing that every person can transform their home into a serene living space that promotes wellbeing too.
My blog reflects my love for salutogenic, wabi-sabi and biophilic interior design. This translates into an appreciation for more understated interiors, soft minimal design, authentic materials and considered craftsmanship.
Salutogenic design
Salutogenic design is design that serves to support health and wellbeing by understanding an items impact on human and ecological health when in production, when in use, and once it has been discarded.
Wabi-Sabi
Wabi Sabi recognises three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is complete and nothing is perfect. It’s a philosophy that teaches the beauty in imperfections and respect for the passage of time.
Biophilic design
Biophilic design is design that increases our innate connection to nature and subsequently improves our health and wellbeing.
my house tour
My partner, Rob, and I have done a lot of house renovating this year and this updated tour of our Victorian terraced home shows what we’ve been up to - we’ve been busy!
There’s still lots to do but we’ve made good progress and we couldn’t be happier with the fact that this house is starting to feel more and more like our home.
I’ve Collaborated With
Like many, I’m taking steps to try and adopt a more sustainable lifestyle and I use my blog to share my thoughts on the products and brands that I’m using that value environmentally sustainable and ethical practices.
